Would anyone know if there was an alien invasion? I asked the Doctor as I lay on his couch. “Hmm!” I mean, I noticed this little fellow on a branch in our garden, Just another stick insect, I thought. Then suddenly the creature addressed me and told me to be careful where I trod or I would squash his spaceship. “ Hmm! Do you often hear voices?” Yes! I can hear your voice quite clearly and my wife never stops talking. Hmm! I mean, do insects often talk to you? No, this one was unique and offered to show me a plant that would make me immortal. Hmm! Did you reply and jot the details down? No, I did not have a pen at the time and I have forgotten what the plant was, I was unable to question him further as a passing bird flew down and gobbled him up. Hmm! Tell me about your relationship with your Mother?
We were exploring the remote dense African jungle, My colleagues and I had a grant from our university to search for rare medicinal plants. Suddenly we were confronted with a raging torrent of water, a tributary to a very large river. There was no way around this obstacle. To continue our journey we would have to find a way across. Then our local guide shimmied up a very large Baobab tree. Perched on a branch he made a very loud piercing whistling call, many times. Shortly after a fleet of canoes arrived to ferry us to the other side.

THE RESCUE
by John Yeo
Our planet is dying from lack of food, energy, and overexposure to the intense heat generated by the thoughtless burning of fossil fuels for centuries. Desperately our scientists have been sending random signals to the limits of our universe and beyond.
Then without warning a huge moon appeared in the sky and began to get closer and closer to the Earth. Scientists were scared of a collision and plans were made for the united world’s military to shoot this moon out of the sky. Then a surprising unstoppable message was relayed to all of our world media.
Do not be afraid! Your weapons are frozen and will not operate, we are your brothers from many universes away, we are here to help. This moon is a craft that will take everyone to safety before the planet Earth self destructs. Your years of neglect and abuse have had an unstoppable effect and you are invited to leave this dying planet. We have been monitoring your development for centuries and we are here to rescue and relocate you to another fresh fertile world. We will help you and freely share our eternal knowledge for your future health and happiness.
The governments were sceptical. The scientists were delighted. The religious were united in their belief that this was God’s work. Many were suspicious and refused to believe the message.
The people who had faith in the message from this moon, packed a few belongings and travelled up hill and down dale to board the vessel that would eventually rise in the sky and take everyone to a haven. A new world, a new life, with a new beginning beyond our universe.

The difficulty of auto-mania is keeping a firm grip on the wheel. George was a confirmed kleptomaniac with a penchant for vehicles. The latest addition to his collection was stolen from a scrap yard. George planned to renovate and bring this interesting vehicle to life.
The police arrived and arrested George for parking this very unique stolen property outside his front door.
In court the learned Judge looked at George and asked. “Why?”
George shrugged his shoulders, then mumbled. “I dunno!”
The Judge asked for a psychiatric assessment and later ordered George to be released into the care of the local hospital car mechanic.
6am start today. Keen to finish the work I have planned on my allotment, I decide to break my normal habits and cut across the fields. There has been a very early mist and the grass is covered with dewy droplets of water. I am not the first person to cross this field, there is a trail of someone else’s footprints and I unconsciously follow these tracks. Up ahead, I notice a figure slumped in the grass. I approach with caution and discover Walter our farmers hand lying in the damp grass, collapsed and unable to move. I dial 999.
I am a very new blogger, very keen to broaden my writing and blogging experience. I think it will be interesting to meet and connect with other like minded bloggers. I am not sure where this course of blogging is going to lead or the nature of the exercises involved. I am ready to rise to the challenge.
The village was located at the edges of the tropical evergreen forest. The villagers would grow food, collect fruit from the forest and kill small animals for food. One day, Abhay a young, fearless, carefree man was collecting wood for cooking from the forest. He sensed a pair of eyes watching his every move. Abhay became uneasy, he was sure he was not alone. Then a low growl became a roar and a full grown female tiger suddenly appeared on the path in front of him. Abhay turned to flee, a shot rang out, the tiger turned and fled unscathed.

Our house is large, built to a grand design, Cleo flounced in the front door looking flustered. “Father I need to talk, can we go to the table?” I smiled inwardly, we have a round table and chairs on the patio, where family matters are discussed in private. “Of course, I replied, come.” “I’m in deep trouble and I need money from you urgently! “ The words came out very fast, furious and aggressive. “Now hold on, what do you need this money for? “Sorry Dad, my car is in need of urgent repair” I sighed and reached for my wallet.

THE LEGACY by John Yeo
I am a story that is still in the telling. I entered the family profession as a boy in India. My life as a mahout started very early, when I was assigned Dattiji, a very young elephant. My training began, and my elephant and I grew up together. I used my hook and trained Dattiji to trust me alone, Dattiji used his natural friendliness and loyalty to train me. We became very close, I slept with my elephant ate my food with my elephant, we spent our lives together. One night, I was awoken very early in the morning to frightening screams of agony from Dattiji. I then realised that Ganesh, the Indian god of elephants had arrived to take Dattiji to heaven. I was heartbroken at the loss of my elephant. I designed an image of the eternal elephant spirit, decorated with a spiritual headdress. A very good friend, a skilled artist, tattooed my creation on my hand. I now have a permanent memory to carry wherever I go, of my elephant friend Dattiji. Many people ask me about this unusual design and I now take commissions to design and create unique works of art. I could never go back to my first profession as a mahout, I know I will never find another friend like Dattiji.
