The Doctor was brilliant, he had written many books full of original ideas. Feted the world over, he was basking in the glory of his academic success, Mary, his glamorous wife took care of him and they both enjoyed a super-rich lifestyle.
Mary was very frightened inside, she harboured a sad secret. The Doctor had been leaving an increasing workload unfinished. Secretly Mary had completed many books and papers and engineered the Doctor’s public image. The terrible reality was clear, a shocking disease had struck the Doctor and robbed him of his sparkling mind.
Slowly but surely destroying his brain.

What a tragedy. You have to wonder why his wife continues to cover for him. Is it out of love or vanity, or a bit of both?
There is a lot to be laid at the door or her insecurity and force of habit after many years ~ I think V.V. ~
Of my grandfather’s five other siblings, he was the only one not afflicted by Alzheimer’s. It’s a fear I have for my mother.
My Father-in-law struggled with increasing levels of Alzheimers until his death at 93 in a nursing home. This is a fate that I would not wish on anyone. The increasing dependence on others for your needs and the memory loss is very sad ~ 😦
Oh … perhaps this is what they call love
