DEVIOUS~FROWN~VENEMOUS
Write something based on and including these three words.
MARCELLA
by John Yeo
Marcella, why are you envious,
Bordering on the devious?
When I try to smile you frown,
It is beginning to get me down.
The answer is becoming obvious,
Your deadly tongue is venomous.
You cannot face the reality,
You are eaten up with jealousy!
Smile,
Have fun
Lose the strife,
Lighten up and get a life!

Well yes – sometimes that is what we need to do – sound advice and lovely write!
Thanks jae ~ A very evocative prompt! ~ Difficult to get a light response from this ~ Nice to hear from you, 🙂
I loved the poem, John, and you’ve included the three words so well. Anyone with such a venomous tongue and non-smiling face must have a problem somewhere. I also love the way you’ve shaped the last four lines. Well done! 🙂
Thanks so much Millie ~ I really did struggle with the dark nature of these three words ~ The last stanza shape was fun ~ 🙂
It was very well done! 🙂
