“They followed the buffaloes and their babies into the woods”

“Who did darling?” Hillary asked her daughter.

“The horrible men with guns, there was a lot of shooting, then I woke up.” Hillary smiled,

“Sounds like a very bad dream. Be on your best behaviour today as my boss, Marg is visiting.”

“OK Mummy, the buffaloes were just like the statue in her garden.”

Later, Marg and Hillary were speeding to London by train to attend a meeting with the Brigadier.

Marg revealed a small leather pouch that had been secreted in the mouth of the buffalo statue in her garden. The pouch contained a tiny electronic flash drive full of sensitive information. Diamond Jack had secreted it there before his untimely death.

The Brigadier was stunned to get his hands on such valuable commercial information. Marg was well rewarded. After shopping in town and a visit to the hairdressers, Marg decided to book a holiday.

Sad news of Bella……..

The neighbours were not happy about my choice of yard art”

This incredible e-mail came through on Marg’s iPhone shortly after Angelo had spotted Colonel Tom on the river-bank in France. Marg was both puzzled and annoyed about this as she had never had any “art” as grotesque as the two pictures Hillary had forwarded. Marg called Hillary, who was also mystified, and reported they had been delivered the previous day in a large white van. Leaving Colonel Tom with Angelo in France, Marg caught the next flight to London, to investigate.

Arriving home, Marg was greeted by two even more grotesque objects than she had imagined. All became clear when she had opened a huge pile of personal mail. The two objects were a legacy from the late Diamond Jack’s estate and had been shipped from the USA by the executors of his estate.
Marg was about to dispose of them when an urgent message arrived from the Brigadier.
“GUARD THEM WITH YOUR LIFE”

Once upon a time in a land far, far away.”

The children were enthralled, it was storytime, nearly bedtime, “Mummy the telephone is ringing!” exclaimed Sarah. Hillary sighed, “People pick the most awkward times.” Hillary snapped to attention at the breathless voice of her boss Marg. “Sorry to trouble you, cannot explain now, I need help, urgently. Please collect the emergency cash from the office and wire the money to me here in France.”
Marg had been rescued from the jaws of death by a local diver, Colonel Tom was still missing. The Brigadier sent Angelo to meet her a week after the rescue. Sadly they were now stranded after Angelo’s pocket had been picked in a local bar. After the second explosion, a boat packed with explosives was sent down the river and detonated to block the landing on the river island where Dr Dickus was believed to be located.
Angelo suddenly exclaimed on the bank. “There he is………..

“Pizza anyone?”
Mozzarella cheese melted over beautiful black olives, succulent tomatoes, mouthwatering mushrooms, with chili peppers and meaty pepperoni. The dough was as light as a snowflake or the fluffy white clouds that were visible as she was drifting, clutching tightly to a floating log. Fear suddenly overtook her dreamy hallucination when Marg realised she was miraculously alive. Just!
Her head was hurting from the severe shock wave that hit from nowhere. The Brigadier immediately sent out search parties after a frantic call from a survivor who had reached the riverbank. Colonel Tom and Marg were still missing. Don Fernando raced to the scene and deployed a further team of men to hunt down Dickus on the river island.
Marg drifting along the rocky rapids desperately kept herself from losing consciousness.
The Brigadier frantically leading the search from a helicopter, adjusted his binoculars as another huge explosion sounded further down the river…….

When the team heard the dam explode they knew they had limited time to make it to safety.

A raging torrent hit the assault craft, Colonel Tom pushed the button on his radio phone and called for help.
Things had moved fast since the casino raid and two teams were on a mission to rescue Bella, who had miraculously survived the carnage after Dr Dickus escaped. A ransom message had been found written in blood on the wall of the warehouse.
Colonel Tom and Marg’s team were aboard an assault craft heading for a secluded river island. The water becoming rougher became a raging torrent. Perhaps it was fate mused Marg as she stared death in the face, pictures of her life flooded through her mind.
The Brigadiers team raced to the rescue, to their horror they came upon the craft upside down, caught up in a floating tree. There was no sign of Colonel Tom, Marg or the team.
Then the Brigadiers cell phone sounded……………

Flying Saucers ~

“On March 9th, 2015, three objects were reportedly seen in the skies over the Borracho Todos los Tiempos Vineyards.”

Angelo had visited five vineyards where the rioja flowed freely.

He ran as fast as he could along the Rue de Tropicana, shouting. “Invasion, the aliens are here! I will save the world!” Firing a pistol wildly into the sky, as passers by ducked for cover.

“Can you see the saucers in the sky we are under attack!”

Angelo was arrested for being drunk and disorderly, he awoke in a Parisian cell in a drunken stupor, memory began to return as he thought he had been abducted and the Gendarmes were aliens.

Marg arrived with a high powered solicitor and bailed him out. The Brigadier was livid and then keen to get the operation moving to flush the villainous Dickus out of his gambling emporium. Marg and Bella’s teams began to enter the casino separately and mingle with the gamblers. A body suddenly crashed through a plate glass window …….

When it came to a challenge Jim Smiley had to jump right in”.

Marg smiled when these words popped into her mind, she was on a dull flight to meet up with the team in Paris, France. Bored on the aeroplane, Marg was reading a collection of short stories, by Mark Twain. ‘The French eat Frogs legs, don’t they?’, smiling to herself. Marg took everything with a pinch of salt, especially food for thought.
The threat of an attack by the lab rat Dickus was imminent and very real. The Brigadier and the two teams of operatives were meeting in the city to flush the sinister Dickus and his henchmen out of their hideout before they struck. They intended to attack Dr Dickus at his casino, oddly named the “Jumping Frog”, situated on the banks of the river Seine.
Marg was met by Bella at the Charles de Gaulle airport and picked up the rest of the team. Then came a shock, Angelo……..

Ermilia typewriter

The old typewriter had a mind of its own.

Battered beyond recognition, it was found among the remains and rubble after an explosion in the hideout belonging to Diamond Jack next to Rattle Snake river. Jack was killed outright by a bomb, the typewriter survived, and the ribbon provided a valuable clue. One word was indented in capitals on the ribbon, DICKUS.

Jack had managed to leave a clue that miraculously survived the blast.

Marg was contacted and with the sad news came a summons to a meeting with the Brigadier and Don Francisco on the Mysterious Island. This was to be a mission that would involve many operatives from the two organisations and Marg would take charge of the Brigadiers section.
The training was intensive and Marg was well pleased with the teams performance. Her opposite number and right hand was Bella, a tough operative from Don Francisco’s organisation.
A serious warning threat arrived out of the blue……………..

Little did they know when the photographer took their picture they would find themselves trapped in a painting.

They say life is an ongoing ever-changing picture, when Diamond Jack arrived to say goodbye on his very powerful motorcycle, he presented Marg with a painting as a present. Jack is an artist, he had many sketches and photographs of Marg and the team with the wolves, to turn into paintings. Marg said goodbye before catching her plane to London.
The Brigadier was upset, Dr Dickus was still on the loose, last reported on the way to Dubai, with Angelo on his trail.
The Brigadier was very interested in the painting that Diamond Jack had passed on to Marg, he never revealed how he knew about it, there were two well known international scientists among the musicians. When the painting was examined, there appeared to be writing beneath, that turned out to be a very valuable formula. Marg was rewarded with a huge bonus.
Several months later death struck swiftly……….

Dropping her line into Fools Lake, she patiently waited for something to bite.

Hillary was on leave, visiting friends in Arizona. Fly-fishing was a passion of hers from way back.

There was a piercing sound from a cell phone in her rucksack. ‘Damn! I’m sure I turned that off,’ she thought.

Marg, her employer who owned the investigations agency she worked for, had had a narrow escape and needed her help.

Hillary picked up a flight from Phoenix to Anchorage in Alaska and 6 hours later, collected a package from Marg, at “Humpys,” a restaurant in the airport complex.

Marg related her miraculous  escape from the secretive Dickus’s lab that blew up after explosive charges detonated, when she retrieved some documents from a large safe. Marg needed to get back to London to meet the Brigadier, as she was now a target of the organisation. Hillary agreed to deliver the package to their office and returned to Arizona.

A motorcycle roared up ~
