MYSTERIOUS ISLAND (9)

Diamond Jack had his hideout next to the Rattle Snake river.
Jack a wolf whisperer was famous for his efforts to reintroduce the gray wolf into the wild, 300 miles away in New Hampshire. The Brigadier had recruited him to go on ahead and prepare the way for the assault on the Alaskan laboratory.
Marg and Angelo boarded a small boat and approached the complex by water. A torchlight twinkled as arranged and they landed to find Jack. Grinning he said he had taken out the wolves using knockout drops delivered by darts and they had just one hour to do the job. Angelo and Jack went off to deal with the guards, and lay the explosives leaving Marg to infiltrate the building alone.
Shooting broke out in the grounds. A figure dashed out followed by a large wolf. The firing got closer and Marg took the opportunity to enter the lab. Suddenly there was a mighty explosion!
Some days later……………

She was unaware that she was being watched.
As she left the helicopter at Junea airport in Alaska, Marg met with Angelo, a member of Don Francisco’s organisation.
Together they would penetrate the remote laboratory where Dr Dickus worked and steal a very valuable formula, then destroy the lab.
Shots rang out, Angelo grinned, and put his foot down hard on the accelerator to get clear of the airport. “It’s OK you were tailed, but we have taken them out!”
Approaching a densely wooded complex containing the lab, Marg was reminded of the yellow Jeep with Alaskan number plates that had been close behind her in the UK.
Angelo was familiar with the terrain and he was to play a key role in the assault from the lake side.
Smiling he asked Marg how she felt about wolves as Dickus was famous for his pet wolf and he was guarded by the rest of the pack.
Then amazingly—-

They finally made their escape …….

Racing down a remote country lane the car following closely, swerved suddenly, and blocked the road to prevent pursuit by the motorcyclists.

Marg was whisked through customs and boarded the yacht to find the Brigadier with several of her former colleagues already aboard. A meeting was hastily arranged to discover the identity of the informant inside the organisation. The suspect became obvious and one of the team left on a mission.

The journey to the familiar island was uneventful. The Brigadier and his team conducted several meetings where Marg became aware of her role in the up-coming operation.  Marg was to play a key role infiltrating and securing information on Dr Dickus, a rogue scientist who was in control.
Six weeks later she was aboard a helicopter to a mystery destination known only to her and the Brigadier. As the helicopter made the approach to an airfield in the USA——-

Racing down into the atmosphere, the unidentified object crashed, leaving behind one heck of a huge crater and a plume of smoke that could be seen from miles around.”

The news presenter went on to describe the ensuing chaos. All flights from London’s Heathrow airport were cancelled until further notice. Marg snapped off the rolling news programme and immediately contacted the Brigadier’s organisational London number for instructions. Marg was informed transport would arrive to take her to Dover, where she would meet Captain Scarlett on the super yacht “Bue Dreams”. A limousine called at Marg’s office promptly for the journey, suitcases were stowed in the boot and Marg was on her way to the docks. As she settled back in luxurious comfort, the car picked up speed cruising through the countryside.

Two very powerful motorcycles screamed alongside the car forcing the driver off the road. Marg kept her head, ducked low, and reached for her cellphone. Suddenly the driver put his foot down and took off leaving the motorcyclists behind, neither of them noticed the innocuous car close behind.

MYSTERIOUS ISLAND (5)

by John Yeo

Silently as the people watched, the black hawk helicopter lifted into the air
The detonation of a rocket laid waste to one of the outhouses. Under attack and in danger, Marg and the team were quickly whisked away through a door leading to a flight of stairs down to a concrete bunker in the basement. Ripples of shock visibly ran through everyone as they raced down the stairs through a maze of tunnels emerging an hour later in a farmhouse, about a mile away. Marg managed to hitch a ride to the airport where she was soon safely on a flight back to England.
Later, Marg heard the sad news, several members of the Don’s family had been killed in the surprise raid. The plans laid at the meeting were to be put into action as revenge for this insult was now a matter of urgency. Marg was expected to report to the mysterious Island for training. The Brigadier was hopping mad~

The house of Don Francisco sat in a remote part of the desert.
Very luxurious and secure, Marg knew of the connection between the Brigadier and the Don, she had visited before with the team. She sat stunned as the express letter was thrust into her hands and the courier melted away into the crowd. The summons came out of the blue, where to meet the helicopter that soon whisked her away to Morocco, for a private emergency conference with the two men. Security was at a very high level and men with guns and viscous looking dogs were everywhere.
Marg was feted and the proposition was outlined. Marg was ordered to return to the mysterious island and undergo special training in infiltration methods. We need you to get information and to join some special forces to bring down our rival business associates. Marg looked askance. “Do I have a choice?” The Brigadier smiled knowingly.
Suddenly there was a huge explosion outside~

SINISTER SANATORIUM

by John Yeo

The year was 1903. We lived in the heart of the City of London. I was quite a prosperous businessman and my wife who had a nursing background followed her own interests. We lived comfortably and shared much together.

I had been struck down with a persistent cough for several weeks. When I started coughing up blood, the doctor made his diagnosis and recommended I stay in a sanatorium. We visited several institutions and finally selected a well recommended hospital on the windy Cornish coastline. Fresh air was thought to be an essential part of the treatment. The isolated imposing building was perched on a cliff with the raging boiling sea stretching out in the front and very large grounds at the rear. Consumption was rife all over the country and the sanatoriums were full of people taking the cure with rest, exercise and fresh air for recuperation. Sadly many people died of the illness and were buried in a private cemetery in the grounds.

One day a body was discovered in suspicious circumstances in the gardens. The police were loathe to call and investigate and as it was thought death was imminent due to the nature of the illness, the death was almost hushed up. The patient was a Lord Raven, a very wealthy man and his relatives were very keen to get answers. They called in a private investigator, Marg, a very astute tough lady sleuth, who after completing her enquiries decided it was undoubtedly an inside job. Some days later when Lord Raven’s will was read, it became clear that her suspicions were correct as he had left all of his substantial wealth to the directors of the sanatorium. The police arrested the entire board of directors, and after many enquiries it was discovered this was a much larger operation, and past patients had donated millions to these crooks before their deaths in the remote sanatorium. It became clear there was a mysterious Mr Big in control, who lived across the Atlantic in Colorado.

Lord Raven’s family hired Marg to investigate and the chase goes on ~~~
