THE LOAN SHARK
by John Yeo
The taste of power and control is irresistible. The predators will always seek new prey to satisfy their lust. The loan-shark wove his net very densely and succinctly to tempt his clients. His velvet silky tone masked the danger. “Let me help you” he smiled as he invited his unsuspecting clients into his web of debt. I can help you to be free from care and worry. He then proceeded to suck the life-blood from his prey, slowly drawing the matter out with his professional fangs, slowly feeding from the unwitting, unwilling carcass of a once living, breathing, trusting entity.

rather grim but unfortunately true for many
Thanks for the great resonse i b arora~ Harsh but sadly right 🙂
“Shark” is a very good word to describe them. No mercy as they rip you to shreds.
“No mercy”~A very apt and a wonderful description Lyn ~ I feel sorry and very sad for people who are so desperate they need to resort to swimming with loan sharks
Dear John,
Guido, right? If you don’t pay with interest you get your kneecaps busted. Descriptive.
Shalom,
Rochelle
Thanks for your, as always very welcome response Rochelle~ I look forward to your next prompt~
A loan shark is like a spider – very apt connection. I like how you show their lure -to be free of debt and worry is a great drawcard for those who are perhaps in desparate situations.
I agree Margaret, credit is so easy to obtain anyway~The debt mountain gets higher and some unthinking irresponsible people are caught in the web spun by these criminals ~
John, Great description. I’ve never had any connection with a loan shark but heard they’re terrible. Well written. — Suzanne
Fortunately ~ I wrote this from imagination and newspaper reports. We have never come into contact with these alleged leeches either~ Thanks for your resonse Suzanne ~ I am glad you enjoyed this.
