THE SCHOOL TRIP
by John Yeo
“I tell you she’s dead, Cindy. Look she’s not moving, that’s
always a sure sign someone is dead.”
“Don’t be silly Georgie, my Mum says dead people don’t wear clothes like that, dead people only wear ghost costumes.”
“Even ghosts can change clothes Cindy, the teacher told me, some haunted houses have headless men, in olden-day clothes, haunting at night. How do we know if she’s dead or not? Maybe she’s a ghost who forgot to go home this morning.”
” Georgie. I’m scared, if she’s dead, we should tell someone. Maybe she’s been murdered. maybe we will get murdered if we tell. I want to get out of here!”
“I’m scared too Cindy, Shall we go and find the man in the next room sitting in the chair watching all the visitors? Or shall we catch up with the teacher and the rest of the class?”
“Hello children!” Came a ghostly voice from the very still lady, who seemed to wake up. “Are you being good?”
Cindy and Georgie screamed and ran away fast.

Hahaha! Cindy and Georgie’s imagination was running away with them! This seems a fitting story for Halloween which the US will be having on the 31st. Does your country have Halloween? Loved the story John!
Yes we do PJ. Halloween is becoming increasingly popular here. We are expecting the local children tonight, tricking or treating! I’m glad you enjoyed the story. 🙂
Thanks John! Enjoy the trick or treaters!!
Good story…. I do believe I might run to, Especially if I had the imagination of those two children .
Thank Tena, Sadly a lot of that wonderful imagination is educated out of us. Glad you enjoyed this write.
Hahaha, I would like to think it was a Halloween prank played on them :D.
Ameena ~ A very logical thought indeed, pranks are always solid and repeatable. 🙂 Thanks for reading this and responding.
