HIGHWAY ROBBERY~FOILED

by John Yeo

The street was crowded with families and shoppers, mingling with tourists, shopping, browsing, searching for the satisfaction of fulfilling a desire.
Suddenly a cry of alarm rang out. “My purse, stop thief!” Two young men were running, elbowing and pushing their way through the crowd to escape.
An elderly man stood firmly in their way, they both went on the attack. A bad move! The 70 year old ex-soldier, very fit and supremely hard, knocked them down. The police arrived, arrested the thieves and escorted them to hospital. The elderly man disappeared into the crowd, never to be seen again.

  1. John, Good story. We always applaud when this type of thing happens. A story in the newspaper here told of a young man on a train who beat up two men picking on an elderly man. Unknown to them he had a black belt in karate. One of the men was to make a political speech that evening and had to make it while sporting a black eye. Well written. 🙂 — Susan

  2. Hooray for the aging hero! you’re never finished till you’re finished I say. Great story and a great plug for senior citizens everywhere.
