Felbrigg Stroll & Sun-Baked Sheep

A bright outing to the Felbrigg estate today! After parking the Kuga, a helpful young man snapped a splendid photo of Margaret and me standing before the grand hall.

Margaret pulled off what was likely her longest trek since her knee operation—a magnificent effort! On our loop back to the Squire’s Pantry, we passed a couple with two energetic Cockapoos and a gent walking a sleek black Labrador.

Once Margaret was comfortably settled at a table with a cheese scone and hot drinks, I set off to log the rest of my daily trek. Canine highlights included an impressive grey Schnauzer, a couple of fiery Chihuahuas, a handsome pair of black Labradors, and a striking red Irish Setter. Along the main drive, sheep were squeezed tightly into every available inch of shade beneath the trees, desperate for respite from the dry spell.

Magpie

Over the bank by a ‘Deep Water’ warning sign, I found only a thick patch of mud—though any moisture at all was a shock after this recent drought! Two rabbits hopped around its murky edge before diving into the undergrowth, while a pair of magpies scattered into nearby branches.
A wonderful round trip before heading back to join Margaret.
