Daily Nature Log ✍️
A Brisk Town Circuit and a Sudden Flurry of Wings.
At 2:00 pm today, the temperature in the wind (the feels-like temperature) was 8°C. While the actual recorded air temperature was 10°C, a steady 9 mph wind with gusts reaching up to 21 mph coming from the east made it feel a couple of degrees colder.
I walked along a different route today, making my way along the main road into town. I noticed a couple of wood pigeons perched on the rooftops along the way. When I reached the town centre, I passed a couple walking a brown Cockapoo-type dog.

I did a couple of jobs in town, and after a welcome cup of coffee in the Little Theatre Hub, I began to make my way back home. I passed several canine-lovers as I walked along the urban roads. A lady struggling with two golden retrievers stood out, and I snapped a quick photograph of this lively pair.

An impressive herring gull was drifting along with wings outstretched, sailing on the air currents over the golf course.
When I passed the leisure centre, nine feral pigeons were lined up along the rooftop. A solitary common gull was perched on its usual rooftop, perusing the area. Several sparrows were flying around the hawthorn hedge adjoining the care home. A pair of magpies and two wood pigeons were pecking at the grass under some pine trees.

When I turned the corner, I was startled by six wood pigeons that flew swiftly from a berry-laden holly bush. This bush was growing really close to the pavement, and one bird flew so close to my face—the noisy, flapping wings were quite a shock!
Today I walked 4.42 km in 64 minutes.
