Daily Nature Log. 17th October 2026

Robin redbreast

    Daily Nature Log ✍️

The temperature in the wind (the “feels like” temperature) was 10°C.
The actual recorded air temperature was 13°C, but strong, gusty 25 mph winds blowing from the west made it feel significantly colder.
I passed a lady walking a juvenile yellow Labrador, quite a lively little dog that never stopped wagging its tail.
When I began walking around the recreation ground, the cold, powerful wind almost blew me off my feet. Along Cemetery Drive the wind was blowing through the pine needles and holm oak leaves, sounding much like gentle waves rippling onto a sandy seashore.
A tiny wren quickly flew across the main road, while a gull languidly drifted across on the wind currents.
Two feral pigeons were perched on the leisure centre rooftop, and a lone gull sat sentinel on a private house.
Today I walked for 1.34 miles in 34 minutes.
Google Fit awarded me 20 heart points.
