Daily Nature Log ✍️
When I started my walk at 10:45 am today, the temperature in the wind (the feels-like temperature) was 7°C. While the actual recorded air temperature was 11°C, the brisk 25 mph wind blowing from the south made it feel colder.
In spite of a school football match in progress, six corvids were pecking at the damp grass on the recreation ground. Several sparrows were flying around the brambles along the bordering hedgerow.
When I arrived at Cemetery Drive, a Jack Russell terrier was barking furiously at two young ladies. The dog-walker was desperately trying to control it.
A few wood pigeons were flying around the holm oak trees when I entered the cemetery. Another couple of pigeons headed for cover as I began to walk around the cemetery pathways.
I noticed another small group of corvids still feasting on the worms and grubs brought to the playing field surface by the recent rainfall.
Today I walked for 1.61 miles in 32 minutes. Google Fit awarded me 27 Heart Points.
